Affordable by design
The biggest AI vendors build for the Fortune 500. Agrei builds for the operation running on tight margins and a small team. That means tools sized to the problem, not to an enterprise contract.
Simple to use, honest in cost, and maintained without a dedicated IT department. If a solo farmer can't figure it out in a season, it isn't finished.
Fewer chemicals
Blanket applications of fertiliser, herbicide, and pesticide are a legacy of limited information. With better data on what the field actually needs — by zone, by day, by crop stage — you apply less, spend less, and leave less residue.
Agrei is interested in the tools that make precision inputs practical for operations that can't afford precision-ag consultants: vision models, sensor integrations, and decision-support that runs without a specialist in the loop.
Deep tech welcome
Agrei won't draw an arbitrary line at software. Sensor hardware, edge compute, computer vision on low-cost devices, remote sensing, genomics pipelines for seed R&D — any technology that genuinely moves the needle for farmers is in scope.
The filter is practicality, not category. If it works in a dirty shed with intermittent connectivity, it belongs in agriculture.
Broader than row crops
Most ag-tech attention goes to broad-acre grain crops because the data is easiest and the market is biggest. Agrei is equally interested in horticulture, livestock, mixed operations, and the supply chain infrastructure that connects them.
